Based on the directive of the Nebraska State Department of Health and Human Services and coinciding with the Emergency Declaration by Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts, the 2020 Cornhusker Classic, scheduled for March 26-28 in Lincoln, Nebraska, has been canceled.
Event promoter Dale Nelson commented, "The Cornhusker Classic has been canceled due to the extreme circumstances we are faced with now and for the coming weeks. We, as much as pullers and fans, are saddened that we cannot go ahead with the event but are hopeful and looking forward to the event for 2021, scheduled for March 25-27, 2021. Thank you to everyone who has supported this event in the past and for years to come." PPL Series Co-Director John Mears offered "While we would have enjoyed the opportunity to be a part of the Cornhusker Classic again this year, we understand and respect the desire of local and state government agencies to curtail the spread of COVID-19. We appreciate the hard work of Dale Nelson and the entire Husker Pull Promotions group to produce a high-quality pull. We look forward to this event in 2021." |
